Leading Central Coast building company Living Green Designer Homes has engaged the services of BMACO Design Studio as a Design and Planning Consultant for a number of developments in and around the Central Coast & Hunter Regions.

Established by Craig Riddle, an accredited HIA Greensmart Builder, Living Green Designer Homes (LGDH) have won a number of HIA awards including the 2007 Spec Home of the year for what they hope will be Australia’s first Carbon Neutral Home. The Home was built in Kurri Kurri NSW.

Currently, the company have a number of medium and low density developments sites that will be developed to provide environmentally friendly housing that will not only be environmentally sustainable during the life of the buildings but also LGDH aims at achieving a Carbon Neutral footprint on the environment for the construction phase of the developments.
BMACO is preparing all the necessary architectural documentation and providing planning advice on the overall concept design for the submission of Development Applications with Cessnock City Council.

A predominant feature in these Developments will be the use of lightweight materials that will minimise the number of deliveries to and from building sites and therefore minimising fuel emissions into the atmosphere by delivery trucks. The use of basic architectural principles such as cross ventilation to achieve excellent thermal comfort and new and improved products will set the bench mark for others to follow.

BMACO Design Studio’s Principal Designer Fab Rodriguez says ” LGDH is on the right track as they’re not trying to re- invent the wheel here. In many ways we’re trying to design developments that will incorporate most of the design features that were standard in buildings one hundred and fifty years ago before electricity and air conditioners became widely available.”
